Ex-Bank Executive Pleads Guilty To Mail Fraud
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say a former executive with M&T Bank has pleaded guilty in a plot to steal more than $223,000 from her employer and the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Rosamaria Somarriba, 67, of Baltimore entered the plea Tuesday. She will be sentenced May 31.
According to her plea agreement, Somarriba had worked at M&T since 1985 and was terminated for reasons unrelated to the case.
Prosecutors say Somarriba made unauthorized transfers of accumulated funds in an unnamed company's account. The Export-Import Bank paid on the company's guaranteed, defaulted loan.
