Event Draws Attention To Concussions In Sports
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- An event in Baltimore is drawing attention to the problem of concussions in youth sports.
Safe Kids in Maryland is hosting the event Monday to kick off Youth Sports Safety Week in the state.
The 3 p.m. session will take place at the Pratt Street offices of the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems.
The forum is intended to help coaches, parents and youth league organizers prepare children to play sports safely and avoid injury.
Organizers say a proclamation declaring sports safety week by Gov. Martin O'Malley will be presented at the event.
