Emily Kaplan Discusses A Crazy Couple Of Days In The NFL
Emily Kaplan of the Monday Morning Quarterback team with Sports Illustrated, joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to discuss a wild first two days in the new NFL league year. Scott asked Emily to give her impressions on the first few hours in the new NFL season. "It's been pretty wild. I think this kind of speaks to the NFL that there is just absolutely no off-season. There is always something that can grab our attention."
Fans up I-95 in Philadelphia are more upset than the Ravens fans here in Baltimore. Eagles head coach has successfully reshaped the roster to his mold, and changed what fans in Philly are used too. Emily believes what's going on in 'The City of Brotherly Love" is pretty interesting. "I think what the most interesting thing here is we are never going to see a coach fall this quickly out of favor with his fanbase as Chip Kelly has, and if he can take it back up. I think a lot of fans in Philadelphia are going through some sort of existential crisis, they think this is the end. Their beloved players are all gone."
The Colts have been busy over the first couple and got even busier Wednesday afternoon by signing Houston Texans all-time leading receiver Andre Johnson to a three year deal. Emily gave her thoughts on what's going on in Indy. "When I look what the Colts are doing as a whole, I kinda see them going all in. The think this is Andrew Luck in his prime, and why not kind of go for it? Especially with Andre Johnson and the money he got. I think it was 21 million. Good for him for A getting paid and B finally getting to play with a quarterback who can throw to him. But like I said with the Colts, I think that's what they see and maybe they can capitalize on this small window of the Patriots being without Revis.
