Eastern Shore Searches For Missing Boaters Suspended
PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) -- The Coast Guard says it has suspended a search for two brothers who went missing on a boating trip from Maryland to Virginia.
The Coast Guard said Wednesday that air and surface crews searched about 20,400 overlapping square miles along the Eastern Shore since the men were reported missing Sunday morning.
Mike Bramlett, 51, and his brother, Donald Bramlett, 54, left Ocean City Saturday morning. They were expected to arrive in Chincoteague on Saturday evening. They were aboard a 38-foot pleasure craft called Reel Run.
Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads commander Capt. John Little says the decision to suspend the search was difficult.
