Easterly To Become D.C. Court Of Appeals Judge
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A former public defender who worked in New York and Washington will be sworn in as a judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
The investiture ceremony for Catharine Easterly is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday.
Easterly was born in Boston but spent most of her childhood in Richmond, Va. She got her undergraduate degree from Yale in 1992 and her law degree from the University of Virginia.
Easterly began her career as an appellate public defender in New York. She worked for a law firm in New York and in 2003 joined the District of Columbia public defender's office.
