Driver Indicted In Fatal New Year's Day Crash
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- An Anne Arundel County grand jury has indicted a man in a fatal hit-and-run crash on New Year's Day.
Twenty-two-year-old Thomas Leonard Judge III of Annapolis was indicted last week on a charge of homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
Police say Judge was driving on East Bay Road in Bay Ridge about 2 a.m. Jan. 1 when he struck and killed 40-year-old Alfred Byrd of Annapolis. Police say Judge did not stop after the crash.
He surrendered to police the next day.
