Driver Charged With DUI After Man On Porch Is Hit
SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Salisbury police have charged a man with driving under the influence of alcohol after a car veered off a road and hit a man sitting on his porch.
Fernando Soto Pablo, 28, of Salisbury is also charged with assault and other offenses. He is being held on $150,000 bond.
Police tell The Daily Times of Salisbury that shortly before 9 p.m. on Sunday, Pablo was driving on Carrollton Avenue when he veered of the road, hitting a curb and stop sign.
Authorities say Pablo's vehicle went into a front yard and up a 12-inch-high stoop and hit the victim. Police say Pablo backed over bushes and went back to the road before hitting a parked truck.
The victim was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he underwent surgery.
