Driver Arrested In Capital Beltway Hit-And-Run
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Police have arrested the driver in a hit-and-run on the Capital Beltway.
Maryland State Police say a vehicle struck another that had previously been disabled in the northbound lanes of Interstate 495 near River Road in Bethesda Saturday night. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was taken to a hospital.
Police say the striking vehicle continued north on I-495 and onto I-270. A witness followed the hit-and-run driver, who exited at Montrose Road and drove into Rockville. There, the male driver was pulled over and taken into custody without incident.
Charges are pending against the man, whose name has not been released.
