Drexel Wins 65-59 As Towson Loses 11th Straight
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Chris Fouch and Gerald Colds each scored 15 points and Drexel sent Towson to its 11th straight defeat with a 65-59 victory Wednesday night.
The Dragons (15-7, 7-5 Atlantic 10 Conference) dominated the boards, outrebounding Towson 47-31, with Daryl McCoy grabbing 13 and Samme Givens 11. Drexel also held Towson to 7-of-26 shooting in the first half and took a 30-22 lead at halftime.
The Tigers (4-18, 0-12) fell behind by 14 points, their largest deficit, when Frantz Massenat, who had 11 points and eight assists, made two free throws with 15:34 remaining. Towson pulled to within four points on four occasions, but couldn't get any closer.
Rashawn Polk led Towson with 14 points. Isaiah Philmore, normally the Tigers' leading scorer (14.0 points a game), struggled to get into double figures with 11, but made only 2 of 11 shots from the field.
