Drew Nicholas On The Terps 75-71 Win Over Georgetown
Drew Nicholas is a former Maryland Terrapins basketball player who now works as a studio analyst for the Big Ten network.
Drew joined Ed and Steve to recap the Terps 75-71 win over the Georgetown Hoyas last night.
Steve asked Drew about what it is like to play with high expectations. Drew acknowledged that in today's college basketball landscape, high expectations come to teams with a high accumulation of talent, "think about the landscape of college basketball now. You see a lot of young teams in the Final Four because of 'one and dones'. Teams like Kentucky and Duke and now Maryland are are expected to do great things because they have a lot of talent."
Ed asked Drew about Diamond Stone's adjustment to playing college basketball. Drew noted that there is a process Stone must go through as he settles into playing at this level, "there is no substitute for playing college basketball. You cant get away with the stuff you did in high school. There is going to be a learning curve for him."
Drew went on to discuss the play of guard Rasheed Sulaimon, the defense and rebounding of Maryland against Georgetown, the mentality of good shooters and scorers in basketball, and the latest news and notes surrounding the NBA.
