Drew Nicholas Joins Ed And Steve To Preview Terps Vs Rutgers Tonight
Drew Nicholas is a former Maryland Terrapin basketball player and is now an analyst of the Big Ten Network.
Drew joined Ed and Steve to discuss the latest news and notes surrounding college basketball and the NBA.
Steve asked Drew if this Maryland team played the 2001-2002 Maryland team who would win. Drew believes that experience would give his 2001-2002 team the edge, "we were more experienced, but like every basketball team we went through our rough patches. I would still have to take our team though because of the experience factor especially in the front court with the likes of Lonny Baxter."
Ed asked Drew what his thoughts are on the play of Maryland forward Jake Layman. Drew noted that Layman has continued to struggle with consistency, "its the same old song with him right? The question with him is can he do it night in night out on a consistent basis. When he's in the flow of the game Maryland is extremely tough to defend."
Drew went on to discuss the performance of Diamond Stone against Penn State, where Maryland stacks up against the likes of Kansas and Oklahoma, and whether this seasons' Golden State Warriors team would be able to perform at the same level against the great teams of the 90's such as Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls.
