Dog Credited With Saving Bowie Woman From Fire
BOWIE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County fire officials say a dog led a retired firefighter to a woman trapped in a burning Bowie home.
Fire officials say retired firefighter Billy Mills was running errands when he saw smoke and investigated. The barking dog then led Mills to a sliding glass door where he spotted the woman inside the home and pulled her to safety.
Fire officials say the woman is recovering from burns and smoke inhalation suffered in the fire Friday. Her dog, named Pumpkin, is at the Prince George's County Animal Management Facility.
