Security System Captures Armed Robbery Of Pizza Delivery Driver

COLUMBIA, Md. (WJZ) -- Howard County Police are hoping the public can help them identify the three suspects seen in security camera footage robbing a pizza delivery driver in Columbia, Md.

The entire burglary was captured on a home security system on May 18 in the 9300 block of Pirates Cove around 9:21 p.m.

A suspect can be heard telling the victim, "Don't move, don't move" while holding what appears to be a gun before ambushing the delivery man.

It appears another suspect is then seen rummaging through the visibly shaken delivery driver's pockets.

The victim was not injured.

Homeowners in the neighborhood who WJZ's George Solis showed the surveillance video to were left speechless by the brazen robbery.

"I can't believe something like this would happen on my street. It's unbelievable," said Catina Tate of Columbia.

Though police have a limited description of the trio of male suspects, they hope the quality of the video does the rest.

"Our hope is that people will look at this video, they'll listen to the audio and they'll recognize one of these suspects," said Howard County Police spokesperson Sherry Llewellyn. "The way someone talks the way someone walks or moves can be a really good descriptor."

The suspects are described as three black males, one approximately 5'8"-6'0" with a heavy build wearing a hoodie and dark pants, two others approximately 5'7"-5'11" with thin builds, one wearing a dark hoodie, the other wearing all dark clothing.

Police are offering a reward of up to $1,500 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Contact police at 410-313-STOP or hcpdcrimetips@howardcountymd.gov with any information.
