D.C. Man Pleads Guilty To Fatal Stabbing In Md.
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A D.C. man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a teenager in Hagerstown.
Antonio Gardner, 27, entered the plea Monday in Washington County Circuit Court, a day before his trial was set to begin.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that Antonio Gardner and his brother, Matthew Gardner, had been charged in the stabbing of 17-year-old Shakur Thornton during a fight on March 29.
Prosecutors say two groups of people got into an altercation near a liquor store. Authorities say Thornton ran away, but the Gardner brothers chased him.
Prosecutors say Antonio Gardner stabbed Thornton with a pocket knife.
Matthew Gardner pleaded guilty to second-degree assault in October.
