D.C. Students Hospitalized After Ingesting Cocaine

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Four District of Columbia elementary school students ingested cocaine brought to school by a classmate and have been taken to a hospital.

School district spokesman Fred Lewis say the students at Thomson Elementary School were taken to the hospital and are all doing well. He says a fifth student who recently had surgery was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

School officials wouldn't immediately give ages for the students or say how the student came into possession of the cocaine.

Police are investigating.
