D.C. School Bus Driver Charged With Drunken Driving
WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. schools officials say they've fired a school bus driver charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police say his bus was left in the middle of a Capitol Hill street with three children and an aide aboard.
Fritz Gerald Aubin, 55, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating a vehicle while impaired in the Oct. 7 incident. Aubin had been an employee of the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, which operates school buses for D.C. students with disabilities.
Spokeswoman Athena Hernandez says Aubin was fired for "multiple violations" after an investigation.
Aubin was released pending a hearing in January. Both he and his attorney declined to comment.
