D.C. Police Search For Man In Stabbing Attacks
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police Chief Cathy Lanier says police are investigating whether the same man is responsible for three and maybe four late-night stabbing attacks on women.
Lanier says the attacks in the Petworth area of the city are believed to be connected based on the time of day they occurred and their proximity to each other.
The first one took place last month and the rest occurred in June, most recently early Wednesday morning in the 1100 block of Allison Street, NW.
Lanier says all four victims were attacked from behind as they walked alone. They were each cut with a sharp object, but their injuries aren't life-threatening. The man fled as soon as the women screamed.
