D.C. Police Arrest 3 In Eastern Market Armed Robbery
WASHINGTON (AP) -- District of Columbia police say they have arrested three men in connection with an armed robbery at the city's Eastern Market last month that left one man badly beaten.
Police said in a news release late Wednesday that they have arrested 21 year-old Tommy Tyrone Branch of Fort Washington, Md., 18 year-old Michael Moore of Landover, Md., and a juvenile male. Police said the three were arrested Wednesday and that each has been charged with armed robbery.
On Aug. 18, officers responded to a report of an unconscious adult male at the market on Capitol Hill. He was transported by emergency crews to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators later determined that the victim had been assaulted and robbed.
Officer Hugh Carew, a police spokesman, said additional charges would be brought in the man's beating.
