Crews Restoring Power Throughout Region
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Crews are making progress in restoring power to those affected by severe storms that blew through the mid-Atlantic region.
Shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, Dominion Virginia Power reported just over 1,100 outages in northern Virginia.
About 900 Pepco customers in Washington and its Maryland suburbs were also still in the dark.
And in central Maryland, Baltimore Gas & Electric had just over 500 customers out as of 6 p.m.
The storms Saturday afternoon brought winds near 70 mph and knocked out electricity to as many as 192,000 homes and businesses served by the three utilities.
