COVID-19 In Maryland: More Than 1.4K New Cases Reported Sunday
ANNAPOLIS (WJZ) — Two more mass vaccination sites will open in Maryland at Frederick Community College and at the Navy-Corps Memorial Stadium as the state moves into Phase 3 Monday.
This comes as Maryland added 1,483 new COVID-19 cases Sunday with 11 new confirmed deaths reported, according to data from the State Department of Health.
The state has recorded 426,730 cases since the beginning of the pandemic and 8,269 deaths, up 11 from Saturday.
Hospitalizations stand at 1,240, down 10 from the last day. Of those, there are 279 in ICU beds and 961 in acute care.
The state's positivity rate went up slightly, now at 5.41%.
As of Sunday morning, 1,360,748 Marylanders are fully vaccinated. They have administered 3,434,279 total doses, with 2,073,531 first doses and 1,210,545 second doses administered so far. Of those, 28,805 first doses and 27,318 second doses were given out in the last day.
They also continue to administer the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine, with 150,203 total given out so far. In the last day, they administered 8,510 doses.
Anyone 16 or older can get a vaccination now in Maryland.
