Trial Date Set For Baltimore Officers Charged In Freddie Gray's Death
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A trial date is set. The six Baltimore police officers charged in connection with the death of Freddie Gray will go to court October 13.

This comes nearly two months after the officers were charged and after attempts from their defense attorneys to move the trial out of Baltimore.
Officers Caesar Goodson Jr., Garrett Miller, Edward Nero, William Porter, Lt. Brian Rice and Sgt. Alicia White will go to trial October 13.
The six were charged in connection with Freddie Gray's death. Gray suffered spinal injuries while in their custody following an April arrest.
"These past two weeks, my team has been presenting evidence to a grand jury that just today returned indictments," said City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby.
All six officers face a variety of charges from misconduct in office to the most extreme being second degree murder depraved heart for Goodson. Goodson is the driver of the van Gray was placed into.
Gray's arrest and death sparked weeks of protest and later riots that left many local businesses looted.
"We will continue to support them throughout this judicial process, which we believe will result in a finding of innocence," the Fraternal Order of Police said in a press conference.
Attorneys for the officers have pushed to get the trial moved out of the city, arguing it would be impossible to select an impartial jury.
Meanwhile, the arraignment for the six officers originally set for next week has been cancelled, as they must now submit not guilty pleas in writing by this Friday.
A motions hearing is also slated for September 2.
