Councilwoman Alleges Absentee Ballot Fraud
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Baltimore city councilwoman is accusing the city's elections board of fraud, saying the board mailed out incorrect absentee ballots to voters in her district.
The Baltimore Sun reports that City Councilwoman Belinda Conaway said Tuesday that at least seven voters in her 7th District received 6th District absentee ballots in the mail.
The two-term councilwoman is running a write-in campaign for the Nov. 8 election to try to keep her seat on the council. She lost the Democratic primary to newcomer Nick Mosby, who was backed by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
