Coronavirus Latest: 1,660 Maryland COVID-19 Cases, 24 Deaths Reported
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- There are now 1,660 cases of COVID-19 in Maryland, according to state numbers, up 247 cases from Monday morning.
There have been at least 24 deaths reported in the state from the coronavirus. The three latest as of Tuesday morning are a Carroll County man in his 80s with underlying health conditions, a Howard County man in his 80s with underlying health conditions and a Prince George's County resident in his 40s, who had no underlying conditions.
Three more deaths were reported at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Mount Airy Tuesday evening.
Baltimore Mayor Jack Young announced the third death in the city due to the coronavirus, and Frederick County reported its first death, a woman in her 90s with underlying medical conditions.

Late Tuesday evening, officials in Cecil County also reported the first death in their county due to COVID-19.
The number of cases in the DMV Capital Region has tripled in less than a week, jumping to over 3,100 confirmed cases, according to the state.
In a press conference Monday, Hogan issued a "stay at home" order for the state.

At this point, 14,868 people have tested negative for the coronavirus.
Of the positive patients, 429 people have been hospitalized and 53 were released from isolation.
