Committee Didn't Report $206K Donation To Baker
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- State election records show that a committee that raised money for Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker's 2010 campaign didn't report a $206,000 contribution.
The Washington Post (http://tinyurl.com/m7rmvel) reports that the committee also didn't identify the source of the money. The $206,000 went to Baker's campaign in January 2010.
The committee was known as County 1 and is what's known under Maryland law as a slate committee. Such committees can make unlimited contributions to a slate of member candidates. In addition to Baker, County 1 was also able to raise money for three Democratic state delegates. But all of its funds went to Baker.
County 1 chairman Kenneth Johnson says he's looking into the discrepancy. He says he asked for and received the resignation of County 1 treasurer Thomas Felder.
