Commission Lifts Water Advisory In Prince George's
BRANDYWINE, Md. (AP) -- The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission has lifted a precautionary boil-water advisory for southern Prince George's County.
The advisory was lifted at 12:40 a.m. Friday.
The problem started Tuesday with a break in a main in Brandywine that crosses Piscataway Creek. Crews isolated a section of the pipe, and samples tested negative for harmful bacteria.
Once the creek recedes from heavy rains, the section will be fixed.
The area affected was east of Indian Head Highway, west of Piscataway Road and south of Palmer Road, running down to the Charles County line.
The commission recommends flushing taps with cold water, cleaning refrigerator lines and ice receptacles and throwing out old ice, as well as the next three batches of ice.
