Coldplay And Rihanna Performing Together; McCartney Hits The Stage
LOS ANGELES (CBS)—GRAMMY nominees Coldplay and Rihanna will perform live together for the first time at the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Nominee and 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year Paul McCartney has also been announced as part of the lineup.
Other artists hitting the GRAMMY stage include Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift. Additional performers will also be announced soon.
Coldplay, Rihanna and Paul McCartney are all GRAMMY veterans. Coldplay and Paul McCartney last performed in 2009, while Rihanna performed just last year at the 2011 GRAMMY Awards.
Coldplay, seven-time GRAMMY winner, is up for three awards: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Paradise," and Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall."
Four-time GRAMMY winner Rihanna has four nods: Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Loud and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for both "What's My Name?" (with Drake) and "All Of The Lights" (with Kayne West, Kid Cudi and Fergie).
McCartney heads into the GRAMMYS with 14 GRAMMY awards under his belt. The 2012 MusiCares Person Of The Year is nominated for Best Historical Album for Band On The Run (Paul McCartney Archive Collection – Deluxe Edition).
The GRAMMYs will air Sunday, February 12 at 8 p.m. (EST/PST) on CBS. Two-time GRAMMY winner LL Cool J is this year's host.
