Clinton's Pneumonia Affects Attendance at 9-11 Ceremony
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Doctors to Hillary Clinton are saying the Democratic presidential nominee is suffering from pneumonia and was dehydrated, causing her to stumble and fall into her aides arms Sunday at a 9-11 ceremony honoring the victims on the 15th anniversary of the attacks.
Hillary Clinton became ill while leaving the 9/11 ceremony at Ground Zero. A doctor who examined her says she's suffering from pneumonia and was dehydrated.
Video posted on social media shows Hillary Clinton's aides tightly holding on to her, just before she falters a couple times and stumbles into the van.
Clinton had been attending the ceremony at ground zero to mark the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Before it began, Clinton exchanged hugs with others attending the observance.
Prior to the event, Clinton was experiencing a cough related to allergies. After it didn't go away, Clinton was evaluated again Friday and diagnosed with pneumonia. She was prescribed antibiotics and was advised to rest.
Clinton only attended the ceremony for about an hour and a half. A campaign spokesman says she felt overheated and headed to her daughter Chelsea's nearby apartment. Clinton left the apartment building a short time later.
"I'm feeling great," Clinton says to press members, shrugging off questions of "what happened?" An aide says Clinton was examined by a doctor at her home in Chappaqua, New York.
The doctor says at the ceremony, Clinton became overheated and dehydrated, but is now rehydrated and is recovering nicely.
Donald Trump also attended the observance. He told reporters he didn't know anything about Clinton's health incident, but Trump's supporters have long questioned the 68-year-old's health and stamina. Trump is due to visit Baltimore on Monday for the National Guard Association Conference at the Baltimore Convention Center. He is due to discuss his vision on national defense and his plans for the National Guard.
The Clinton campaign has announced that the former Secretary of State will be canceling her Monday trip to California.
