Family Of City Cop Killed By Police Head To Court
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The family of a city police officer killed in a friendly fire incident, now takes their battle to civil court.
Officer William Torbitt was gunned down by police in 2011.
He and several officers were responding to a fight outside a nightclub.
Torbitt was in plain clothes when he fired his service weapon.
That's when other police opened fire, not realizing Torbitt was an officer.
The trial is set to begin Monday morning and is expected to last several weeks.
