Cirque Dreams Holidaze Arrives In Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A holiday show for the whole family to enjoy has arrived in Baltimore.
Tracey Leong has the details from the Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric.
This is the first time Cirque Dreams Holidaze has come to Maryland. As an added treat, one of their performers is from the Baltimore area.
The Christmas spirit is taking center stage in Baltimore.
"Pageantry of bringing the holidays to life. Our founder, Neil Goldberg, had this amazing holiday ornament collection at his house. And one day, he looked at it and said, 'what if these ornaments came to life?'" company manager Jared Burnette said.
Artists are practicing before their Charm City debut at the Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric.
Eddie Yacynych, born and raised in Ellicott City, and a recent University of Maryland graduate is excited to be home.
"I've been getting used to the show and now I'm getting sort of nervous cause my family and friends are coming," Yacynych said.
Some may also recognize some of the performers who recently competed on the show America's Got Talent.
"Not every city has seen that before, because there are not many teams," Yacynych said.
So it's fun to bring that and share the sport. People can see them live along with dozens of other artists in a winter wonderland filled with acrobats, musicians and an abundance of talent.
"It's great to have a moment away from whether you are stressed with the economy or bills," Burnette said.
This is a great way to step away from any of the stresses and come and laugh and see an incredible show.
This troupe will be performing through Sunday. People can get tickets at the box office or online starting at $49.
Their first show is Friday at 7:30 p.m. at The Lyric in Baltimore.
