Chris Knoche on Terps 63-60 Win Over Wisconsin
Chris Knoche is the color analyst for the Maryland Terrapins men's basketball radio broadcasts.
Chris joined Ed and Steve to discuss the Maryland Terrapins win over Wisconsin over the weekend.
Steve asked Chris about the coaching decisions made by Mark Turgeon late in the game leading up to the Melo Trimble three pointer. Chris believes Mark Turgeon did exactly what he should have in the circumstances, "you don't call a timeout there because ultimately you want the ball in Melo's hands and he already had it in his hands. Also by calling a timeout you would give the defense a chance to set up the way they want to."
Ed asked Chris about Wisconsin fans' treatment of Maryland center Diamond Stone. Chris noted that the student section did start chants against Stone, but added that Wisconsin fans seemed to have sour grapes about the hometown recruit leaving the state of Wisconsin, "Wisconsin faithful believe he would have went their if he could get into the school. I don't agree with that because they could get anyone into their school that they want."
Chris went on to discuss the adjustments that Diamond Stone has had to make in his time with the Terps basketball program, as well as previews for the Terps upcoming Big Ten match-ups.
