Chipotle To Change How It Cooks Food To Avoid Contamination

DENVER, Colo. (WJZ) -- Chipotle is changing some of its cooking methods after that e-coli outbreak sickened dozens.

The restaurant chain says onions will be dipped in boiling water to kill germs before they are chopped.

Raw chicken will be marinated in resealable plastic bags, rather than in bowls.

Cilantro will be added to freshly cooked rice so the heat gets rids of microbes in the garnish.

The CDC has still not identified what triggered the e-coli cases.
