"It's the first double-overtime game in MLL history." Cottle said about last week's loss to the Rochester Rattlers. "And we really had our chances to win. When you lose, it's always a different reason, and when you win, it's doing the same things week in and week out. You play tougher, you play harder, you play smarter. We were 7 for 51 in shooting, and had some opportunities to win it, we just didn't take advantage of our opportunities."
Cottle, also a fan of horse racing, had this to say regarding the controversial comments from Steve Coburn, owner of California Chrome: "I thought his remarks were ridiculous. That's why this triple crown is so hard to do, because you have different challenges; fresh horses, horses that sit out this and that. … The idea that once you sign up you've got to keep signing up is ludicrous."
