Channel To Havre De Grace's Marina Silted In
HAVRE de GRACE, Md. (AP) -- Havre de Grace public works officials say the approach channel to the city's marina has been silted in after recent flooding.
Public Works Director Larry Parks tells The Cecil Whig while boaters can get to the basin through the back channel, it's a four-mile trip.
Average depths of the channel range from three feet to four feet at high tide.
Parks says the Army Corps of Engineers is working to determine the extent of the problem, and it will be October before any action is taken.
Dredging could cost $250,000.
