CFB Playoff Talk With Jason La Canfora & Terry Ford
In the latest episode of their podcast series, CBS NFL Insider Jason LaCanfora and Terry Ford discuss the college football play-off. Did it matter what TCU and Baylor did in their games Saturday after Ohio St. crushed Wisconsin in the Big 10 Championship Game? Jason and Terry both agree that if the resumes were close between Baylor, TCU and Ohio St. the Buckeyes were definitely in the play-offs. Why? Because the Buckeyes are a name brand in college football. They bring tradition, history and legacy, which translates to more eyeballs on the television watching them play. Also, Ohio St. travels well, which equals more money for the host city. Also Jason and Terry discuss whether the play-off selection would have been different if blueblood programs like Oklahoma and Texas were in the mix instead of Baylor and TCU.
Jason and Terry also talk tanking. Magic Johnson said this week that he hopes his beloved Lakers lose every game the rest of the year. Ford and LaCanfora yap about if tanking is a good thing and does it go against everything we are taught about sports and competition. Jason tells a story about when he discussed tanking with the Jacksonville Jaguars the year that the bad teams in the NFL "Sucked for Luck".
