CBS Sports Analyst Tony Gonzalez Previews Ravens Vs Falcons
CBS Sports Analyst and All-Pro Tight End Tony Gonzalez joined the show to preview this weekends match-up between the Ravens and Falcons. Tony did play for Atlanta from 2009 to 2013 and is now serving as a analyst on CBS' NFL today. When asked about the Falcons lack of success this year, Tony believes it comes back to Matt Ryan's time in the pocket. "A lot of it has to do with the injuries they have been plagued with. Its sad because, Matt Ryan to me is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL but it seems like he's running for his life every time he drops back to make a pass. And then if he does have time some of his receivers have been banged up."
Jason did ask Tony where he believes this Falcons team is lacking, and if its been a problem for years. "On the defensive side of the ball what it came down too what has been the achilles heel of the defense even when we made our Super Bowl run, it was getting after the quarterback and putting pressure on other teams quarterbacks. "
And finally Tony gave his thoughts on where Baltimore will end up in the standings at the end of the year. "I like the Ravens, I like the way Joe Flacco has been playing this year, defensiely they have been doing outstanding and I have been picking them every week too win. But I think right now where they rank, I think the Baltimore Ravens have chance to be right up there with the best of them... And I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a deep run in the playoffs."
