CBS Broadcaster Bill Raftery Talks March Madness
Bill Raftery
CBS play by play man Bill Raftery joined the Norris & Davis Show to talk about the upcoming March Madness NCAA Basketball Tournament.
Steve asked Bill how does Tom Izzo seem to guide Michigan State to the final four every year. Bill said he forces his players to buy in somehow, and he is a very demanding coach who gets the best from his players. Ed then followed up by asking Bill if he thought Michigan State could get past Louisville, Bill does not think so.
Steve asked Bill about Maryland and what he thought of the program as it heads toward the Big Ten. Bill said he did not get to see Maryland very much, but he believes the program is on the right path. Bill believes that Mark Turgeon knows how to turn a program around and build it up, and that the Terps will be fine in the Big Ten as he said "basketball is basketball."
Ed then asked Bill for some sleepers in the upcoming tournament. Bill said St. Louis and New Mexico are really good basketball teams along with Harvard and they are teams who could maybe pull some upsets.
Before the end of the interview Bill sent a message of congratulations to the Ravens and the city of Baltimore on our recent Superbowl victory, and expressed how happy he was for John Harbaugh and Steve Bisciotti.
