WASHINGTON (WJZ) -- Is Dr. Ben Carson a step closer to running for president? That's what many wonder after the latest move from the former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon.
Denise Koch has more.
Dr. Ben Carson just announced he's launched a presidential exploratory committee. Weeks ago, he spoke with WJZ about his move from medicine to politics at his home in Baltimore County. His supporters have already raised millions, hoping he'll run. Click here to read that story.
"When I look at my children and I look at my grandchildren and I look at the thousands of people wherever I go and I look at their faces and they're saying, `You've got to do this for us,' I can't just walk away," Carson said.
Carson also launched a new website, which previews the themes of his likely campaign: Unite. Heal. Thrive."
Dr. Carson says he will make his decision in May.
Dr. Carson just finished fourth out of 17 possible candidates in last week's straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Prince George's County.
