Car Hits Building In Riverdale, Throwing Woman From Bed
RIVERDALE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say a Riverdale woman was thrown from her bed and injured when a car crashed into her apartment building.
The car crashed through the window of the woman's bedroom in the apartment building on Riverdale Road around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Sonya Rorls says the woman was hospitalized with head and other injuries but released later in the morning.
Rorls says the 29-year-old woman who was driving lives in the same building and told investigators she was pulling into a parking spot when her "brakes gave out." She was also hospitalized after she complained of chest pains.
Rorls says the driver has not been charged, but investigators are still looking at whether drugs or alcohol might have played a role in the crash.
