Capitals Victory Parade To Be Held Tuesday, June 12

WASHINGTON D.C. (WJZ) -- The Capitals will hold their Stanley Cup parade on Tuesday as the team and fans celebrate the franchise's first championship.

The parade will be in downtown Washington, DC., beginning at 11 a.m. at Constitution Avenue and 17th Streets NW. The route will be along Constitution Avenue to 7th Street NW, where it will turn right and culminate in an ALLCAPS rally at 7th Street NW and the National Mall.

Washington D.C.'s deputy mayor Kevin Donahue had hinted the victory parade for the Washington Capitals would be held next week.

Donahue took to Twitter to give fans an excuse for being late to work after the Washington Capitals won their first ever Stanley Cup.

At the end of the note, he says "PS - Your employee will also be taking a sick day next week for a victory parade."
