Calvin Stevens Arrested In Murder Of Khari Johnson In Downtown Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police announced several notable arrests during a press conference Friday morning, including an arrest in a shooting near the Royal Farms Arena downtown in January.
Khari Johnson, 20, of Gwynn Oak was shot in the 200 block of West Baltimore Street in broad daylight on Jan. 15.
Calvin Stevens, 29, was arrested in Johnson's murder.

"The deployment strategy was effective that day," Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said. "We had an officer on the opposite corner right where he was supposed to be, doing what he was supposed to do and allowed us to collect valuable pieces of evidence."
That evidence, Harrison said, as well as technology led them to Stevens, who police called a repeat violent offender.
Court records show Stevens was out on supervised probation for a gun conviction but had previously beaten murder charges and had a juvenile record for robbery, assault and theft.
Police said this case makes 15 murder arrests so far in 2020. They're pleading for more tips, stressing callers can be anonymous.
"We have both the will and the capacity and the compassion to go out and find these bad actors and hold them accountable and we want to be sure our officer and our detectives are doing the work," Harrison said.
Stevens is due in court next week for a bail hearing.
