Calif. Man Pleads Not Guilty In Vanderbilt Rape Case Involving Former Player From Md.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A California man indicted in connection with a rape investigation involving former Vanderbilt football players--including one from Md.-- has pleaded not guilty to charges of evidence tampering.
The Tennessean reports attorney Bernie McEvoy entered the plea Wednesday for 20-year-old Miles Joseph Finley of Bermuda Dunes, Calif. Finley's next court date is Dec. 5.
Finley and 20-year-old Joseph Dominick Quinzio of Palm Desert, Calif., were indicted in August on charges of tampering with electronic evidence pertaining to the investigation.
Charged with aggravated rape are 19-year-old Cory Batey of Nashville, Tenn.; 20-year-old Brandon Vandenburg of Indio, Calif.; 19-year-old Brandon Banks of Brandywine, Md.; and 19-year-old Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie of Woodville, Miss.
All four have pleaded not guilty. They were dismissed from the team and are no longer students.
