BW Parkway Crash Kills 1, Seriously Injures 3
LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a car has run off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in the Laurel area, killing one person and seriously injuring three others.
U.S. Park Police spokesman Sgt. David Schlosser said the accident happened in the northbound lanes of the parkway near Route 197 about 10:15 p.m. Thursday. He says a vehicle left the road and hit several trees.
Prince George's County fire department spokesman Mark Brady says four people were trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued. Brady says officials closed the highway to land helicopters to take all four to hospitals.
One occupant, Sebrone J. King of Burtonsville, 28, died.
Schlosser says the parkway reopened about 3 a.m. Friday.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
