In Tuesday night's game six the Miami Heat got by on "The skin of their teeth" according to Geltzeiler. Going in to the third quarter the Heat trailed the San Antonio Spurs by ten points. However, the fourth quarter would read a different script from the prior three. LeBron took over and lead the Heat in to the final two minutes. But in the final two minutes, two turnovers by LeBron left the Heat down by five points. James would then hit a second chance three pointer to cut the lead to two with about thirty seconds left. A quick foul off the inbound's pass and only one of two free throws made by the Spurs left the lead at three. Ray Allen would tie it with five seconds on a three pointer from the corner.
Rob felt that the referee's had too much of an impact on this game when they were not making calls against the Heat in the fourth quarter. Geltzeiler adamantly disagreed with Rob and felt that the ref's did a great job of letting the players decide the outcome.
Mike Miller had thirty minutes, eight points, and did not get to the charity stripe. Rob questioned his playing time and what he brings to the table for the Heat. Geltzeiler countered by saying "Two things Rob, number one [Miller] stretches the floor and yes it doesn't have to be a ton of shots that he hits but you have worry about him especially when hes only got one shoe on but you gotta worry about him and that's a big thing." Miller gives the Heat size in their smaller lineups and gives them length on the court.
Vinny had concerns about the Spurs age and the affect it could have on their conditioning for game seven. Geltzeiler felt that both teams were going to be equally affected by fatigue but game seven adrenaline should take over for everyone.
Throughout the series the Spurs have been the more desperate team because of their age. This might be the last chance at another championship for players like Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili. Duncan had a stellar performance in game six while looking like a younger version of himself. He posted thirty points and seventeen rebounds. The Spurs are desperate and hungry for this championship.
Brian believes that game seven will go the Heat's way by a very slim margin. Expect a repeat of game six for Thursday nights NBA Finals Finale.
