Brad Brach Takes Over Closing Duties, Goes 4-For-4 In Saves
Orioles reliever Brad Brach recorded his fourth save of the season Monday night against the Tampa Bay Rays. Losing Zach Britton to a forearm injury appeared to be a heavy blow for the team, but Brach has stepped in as the stand-in closer and has gone 4-for-4 in save opportunities.
Brach joined Scott and Jeremy to talk about taking over the closing duties, policing in the game of baseball and his strong start to the year.
Brach has helped the Orioles get to the 13-5 record they have, sitting a top the AL East. Brach says, "I think it kind of sets the tone. It's a good place to be when you're playing teams in the division to get a little head start on these guys."
Brach revels in the fact that he's backed up by one of the best defenses in baseball. He said, "Yeah, it's tremendous. You challenge the other team to put the ball on the ground...it's just unbelievable to have this defense behind us. It's a huge luxury to have."
