Boyfriend Of Missing Woman Charged With Murder
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Authorities in Cumberland and Allegany County have charged the boyfriend of a woman who is missing with first-degree murder.
Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit arrested Stephen George Schleuniger, 44, on Tuesday. He is charged with the suspected death of 43-year-old Lisa Ann Simmons.
Simmons' relatives reported her missing on Sept. 9.
Police met with Simmons' family at her home on Sept. 10 to investigate her disappearance. Officers say they found bloody footprints on the front porch.
Investigations say they found a large bloodstain on a rug and the floor under it in the front room.
Authorities say a pair of shoes that appeared to match the footprints was found in Schleuniger's truck.
Schleuniger is being held without bond.
