Boy Who Pointed Fingers Like Gun Has Record Wiped
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County school officials will clear the record of a 6-year-old Silver Spring boy who was suspended from school for pointing his finger like a gun and saying "pow."
The family's attorney asked that the incident be expunged Wednesday, and the family learned Thursday the request was granted. The attorney said the boy had no intention to shoot anyone.
The first-grader was suspended from Roscoe Nix Elementary School in Silver Spring for one day in December. The incident happened a week after the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Newtown, Conn.
A spokesman for the school system said earlier that the boy's suspension "was not a kneejerk reaction to a single incident." The spokesman said Friday that the district does not comment on discipline issues involving individual students
