Shots Fired, Man Found Dead In Overturned Car In Towson
TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) — Gunfire and a crash in Rodgers Forge. Questions remain after a man is found dead there.
Rochelle Ritchie has more on the crime that has a quiet neighborhood on edge.
That shooting led to an accident that left a number of cars damaged. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots prior to the crash.
An overturned vehicle blocks the street at Murdock and Blenheim after a man, 36-year-old Donte Antonio Stevens, is found shot to death in a car.
"At that time an officer called for our homicide detectives. Homicide detectives responded to the scene and conducted interviews and examined some evidence," said Cpl. John Wachter, Baltimore County Police.
Baltimore County Police say around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday they were called to the quiet Rodgers Forge neighborhood in Towson when neighbors heard gunshots.
"I jolted awake because I heard three shots that sounded like they were right outside my house," said Sarah Spencer, neighbor.
Police say for unknown reasons the car accelerated down the road and overturned. Several cars were left damaged. Some severe. Others, not too bad.
"So, yeah, this is not bad, This is minimal compared to waking up to what I thought was initially going to be a disaster," said Colin Gayner, neighbor.
Homeowners are sweeping up the pieces.
Police have not released any information on possible suspects.
"Very unusual for this area. Generally, this is a quiet area," Wachter said. "One of the things detectives are going to be working on in their investigation is determining whether or not this was a random act, a targeted act. Any kind of reasoning behind this particular assault."
Police have not said if the car belonged to the victim or someone else.
No one else was found in the car with that victim.
