Bob Haynie: My 'Bet The House' NFL Playoff Picks
The divisional round of the NFL Playoffs are this weekend and all of the wild-card teams are gone. Nothing but division champs left in the field of eight.
Home teams were 4-0 last week. Will we see more home domination starting this Saturday?
I'm thinking no.
Let's get to the picks.
New Orleans @ San Francisco--By going 13-3, the 49'ers became one of the feel-good stories of the 2011 season. Unfortunately, the story ends at home to the playoff-tested Saints, 31-17.
Denver @ New England--Denver stunned a lot of people by upsetting the Steelers last Sunday. No need to worry about the shock-factor this weekend. Patriots roll, 30-13.
N.Y. Giants @ Green Bay--Remember when the Giants played the Patriots tough at the end of the 2007 season and then won the rematch in Super Bowl XLII? Well, the Giants played GB tough a few weeks ago before falling short. Will history repeat itself? Yep. N.Y. wins, 34-31.
Houston @ Baltimore--The Texans have already lost to the Ravens in Baltimore this season. After earning a home playoff game and a first-round bye, the Ravens will not allow Houston to gain a measure of revenge. Ray Rice, Joe Flacco and a stout defense will carry Baltimore to victory, 24-13.
There are four good matchups this weekend.
I can't wait to watch them.
Enjoy the football.
