Bob Haynie: College And Pro Football Picks

Do I give myself a pat on the back for achieving mediocrity? Should I be happy with being average? Well, after the previous couple of weeks with the football picks, I'll take any level of positivity I can get.

3 and 3. That's how I rolled as the calendar turned to November. Not great. Not even good, quite frankly. But better than October ended, for sure.

This is time of the season when teams start making their push for glory. Can I do the same and rise to the occasion? Or will I crumble under the pressure.

We shall soon see.

Last week, in college, I was 2-1. My loser was Oregon State (-3.5) who was spanked at home by Southern Cal, 31-14. Auburn (-7.5) and Missouri (-10), however, hooked me up. Auburn kept Arkansas winless in the SEC by thumping the Razorbacks on the road, 35-17. Missouri lambasted Tennessee--31-3--to continue their climb up the national rankings.

The NFL was not as kind. My lone winner was Kansas City. The Chiefs (-3) pulled away from the pesky Bills in the fourth quarter to win at Buffalo 23-13. The Saints (-7) were upset on the road by the surprising Jets 26-20. The most disappointing defeat of the weekend, of course, was the Ravens. Baltimore (-2.5) came out of their bye week and laid an egg at Cleveland. The Browns won 24-18 to drop the Ravens to 3-5 in 2013.

My current record now stands at 30-22-2.

The quest for the perfect week continues.

College:

Auburn (-7.5) @ Tennessee
Maryland (-5.5) Syracuse
Alabama (-12.5) LSU

NFL:

Seahawks (-5) @ Falcons
Colts (-11) Rams
Chargers (+7.5) Broncos

Happy Football!
