Bob Haynie: Big Games Ahead For The Orioles As September Looms
For the first time in 15 years, the Orioles are sending out orders for playoff tickets. A surprising yet awesome experience for long-suffering fans of Baltimore baseball.
Now will these tickets actually go to use?
We'll find out in five weeks.
Starting on Friday, the Birds began a huge homestand and are looking to keep pace in the AL Wild Card chase.
The last place Blue Jays are up first and the Orioles need to handle this team. Toronto has been devastated by injuries and come to Baltimore having lost five-straight.
It's too late in the season to lose a series--at home--to a club that's just dying to be swept.
Next up will be the Chicago White Sox for a four-game set. The Sox are the surprise front-runners in the AL Central.
Managed by Robin Ventura, Chicago will be a very difficult opponent at Camden Yards.
I'm thinking 5-2 has to happen for the Orioles over the next week at home.
After the White Sox series, the Birds will travel up to New York to face the Yankees as we head into the final month of the season.
Crunch Time.
Hey, printing playoff tickets is cool.
Using them is even better.
